Fun Toast Locations & Outlets 芳土司
Fun Toast 芳土司 (formerly known as Kheng Nam Hong 琼南芳) started off as a small family-owned coffeehouse in 1941 offering traditional Nanyang coffee and charcoal-grilled kaya toasts in the Telok Ayer area. In the early 1990s, Kheng Nam Hong was relocated to Amoy Street Hawker Centre due to Singapore government’s plan to redevelop the precinct. It was in 2009 that the rein of the business was handed over to the third-generation descendants of the founder and a rebranding and remodeling of the business exercise was conducted. The brand was rebranded to Fun Toast, where it expanded its menu offering and adopted a franchise model that accelerated its expansion over the next decade.
To date, Fun Toast operates 39 outlets spread across Singapore (as of March 2022) :

Fun Toast Review (Jewel Changi Airport)
Fun Toast at Jewel Changi Airport is located on Level 4 of Jewel, the shopping and entertainment hub situated in the centre of the world best airport’s Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. Its open concept dining area is on the side of the walkway, which we estimate could accommodate around 20-30 diners at one time.
We visited this outlet on a Sunday morning at around 11:30am and there were not many diners in the restaurant. There was no queue at the cashier and we went forward to check out its menu. As we had dined at Fun Toast numerous times near our office in the CBD, we were pretty familiar with their menu items. However, we noted that the prices at Jewel Changi Airport are different than that we had at Tanjong Pagar Centre and previously at Asia Square and Telok Ayer MRT station.
Nonetheless, we proceeded to order our favourites, a Soya Sauce Chicken with Rice ($7.30), a Curry Chicken with Rice ($7.30), and a Coffee addon to the meal ($1.30). There was no set meal offers at this outlet and their prices were slightly higher than the other outlets. At Tanjong Pagar Centre, we usually order set meals for $6.80, inclusive of the beverage. Anyway, we were given a queue buzzer for our food after we placed our order. In about 10 minutes, our food was ready and we collected it from the collection point.
As we collected our food, we noticed that the egg for the Soya Sauce Chicken looked rather light coloured and did not seem to have been braised enough. Also, both the dishes did not come with Achar that we usually get with these two dishes. Upon trying the dishes, we find that their taste is consistent with what we get from other outlets. They were of typical taste that we get from coffeeshops and hawker centres, and nothing to shout about.
The Soya Sauce Chicken was fine but the egg was pretty plain. The egg may have been added just before the dish was served. The Curry Chicken was more flavourful than the Soya Sauce Chicken and the potatoes were soft. For the brewed Coffee, its taste was strong and comparable to those we get from other popular chains like Ya Kun and Toastbox.
In all, we rate the quality of food at Fun Toast a 3.5/5, their value-for-money a 3/5, their dining environment a 3.5/5 and service a 3/5. The chain offers typical local coffee and dishes at convenient places and reasonable prices. However, there is nothing special over its dishes and beverages. In fact, for dishes like Curry Chicken, going to Toastbox for this dish might be a better choice.
