Chinatown Chinese New Year Festival 2025 (2025年牛车水农历新年庆祝活动), Singapore’s iconic Lunar New Year celebration in the historic Chinese quarter, returns from 30 December 2024 – 27 February 2025!

With the Chinese Zodiac sign of the Snake marking the new year, this year’s decorations will feature stunning snake-themed lanterns, lights and ornaments adorning four major streets in the Chinatown district.

Other than capturing beautiful photos with the festive displays, visitors can immerse themselves in a variety of traditional activities, including shopping at the lively Chinese New Year (CNY) bazaar, joining art workshops, enjoying Chinese cultural performances, and participating in the much-anticipated CNY countdown party.

• 8 January 2025 (Wednesday), 6:00pm – 9:00pm: Street Light-Up Ceremony (新春亮灯与开幕典礼) will take place at Kreta Ayer Square, located next to the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple [Map]. The event features live performances by:
