Suki-ya すき屋 truly brings the popular ‘House of Hot Pot’ concept to life, offering a heart-warming dining experience at an affordable price. Its signature Shabu-shabu dish is a must-try, and goes extremely well with the quality meats served. Other popular soup choices include Sukiyaki and Touyu Miso broth. Hungry diners will truly enjoy the Sukiya experience, as they can order unlimited servings of delicious sliced beef, pork, and chicken. To top it all off, a salad bar featuring a wide selection of fresh vegetables is offered, bring balance to the whole meal.
Suki-ya すき屋 is not to be confused with Zensho Holding’s Sukiya すき家 that offers gyudons, yakiniku and yakitori rice bowls.

Suki-ya Review (Kallang Wave Mall)
Suki-ya Japanese Hotpot at Kallang Wave Mall is located near to NTUC Fairprice supermarket. If you enter from the entrance closest to Stadium MRT, keep left, walk towards the other end of the mall and you will pass by the store on your right.
We made a reservation through Eatigo with 50% discount for a 4:30pm slot on a weekday afternoon in September 2021. It was our first visit to this outlet, though we have been to its other outlets at Heartland Mall & Suntec City on numerous occasions. We arrived on time and were ushered in after waiting for a few minutes (there was initial hiccup as the crew who attended to us could only speak very little English and had to refer to her manager).
As we get seated, we selected the two soup bases with the server. We were then informed to order the other items through their ordering system. We used our camera phone to scan the QR code placed on the table to access its web-based menu. While we had no issue with this system, there may be some patrons who may not have their own device.
Anyway, we proceed to order our usual items (around 15 or so) and then waited for them to be served. The server then came with half the items but did not deliver the rest. We checked with the manager 5 minutes later and was told that their system might have encountered some errors and requested us to make another order. We did so and the items arrived. For subsequent orders, we made them in batches of 5 items to prevent similar issue from happening again.
Other than the minor hiccups on services, the food was great, both quality and quantity wise. The meat was one of the freshest we have had from our experiences with Suki-ya over the past years. The variety of items they have are pretty standard and similar to their offerings at the other outlets. As we were having dinner buffet, free flow of seafood and ice-cream are included in the price. We had a few plates of baby squids , baby octopus and all flavors of the ice-cream (it’s just a small cup for each serving) available.
In sum, we had a fulfilling dinner and generally pleasant experience. We highly recommend Suki-ya if you are looking for hotpot buffets that do not a hole in your pocket.
