Sinovac-CoronaVac included in the National Vaccination Programme
Singapore’s Multi-Ministry Taskforce (MTF) announced on 23 October 2021 that the Sinovac-CoronaVac vaccine will be included in the National Vaccination Programme (NVP).
Completing the third dose
For those who are vaccinated with 2 doses of Sinovac-CoronaVac or Sinopharm vaccines, their fully vaccinated status will only last for 4 months or until 1 January 2022, whichever is later. After this, their vaccination status will change to “additional dose needed“.
People with vaccination status of “additional dose needed” will be subject to Vaccination-Differentiated Safe Management Measures (VDS) and Workforce Vaccination Measures. They will no longer be able to carry out activities such as entering the mall or dining out.
As such, they are strongly encouraged to walk into any vaccination centre offering PSAR-authorised mRNA vaccine to receive their third dose. Otherwise, they should complete their primary series with a third dose of the Sinovac-CoronaVac or Sinopharm vaccines, whichever was received for the first two doses.
