Kong Meng San Vesak Festival 2024 (光明山普觉禅寺卫塞节庆祝活动2024), a series of activities commemorating the birth, enlightenment and parinirvana of Lord Buddha, will be held from 21 - 22 May 2024 at Singapore's largest Buddhist monastery. In addition to the customary Vesak Day practices such as the Buddha bathing rituals 浴佛, light transference 传灯 and "Three Steps, One Bow 三步一拜" ceremonies, and the Thousand Buddha Repentance Puja prayers 礼拜千佛法会, visitors to the temple this year can also engage in a variety of family-oriented activities. These include sessions of Chinese calligraphy, sutra transcription, yoga, and a vegetarian food festival.
