Chinese New Year Events

Chingay 2024, the 52nd street parade held annually during the Chinese New Year festive period, is back at the F1 Pit Building from 23 - 24 February 2024! Apart from the usual Chingay floats, youths and multicultural street performances in the show, the highlights of this year's event include Singapore's longest-ever (230 metres) interactive floor projection and a PAssionArts Street art exhibition where audiences can take photos, interact and immerse themselves in.
Huayi Chinese Festival of Arts 2024 (华艺节2024), the annual cultural festival held in conjunction with the Chinese New Year, is back from 16 - 25 February 2024. The 10-day event showcases works of prominent Chinese artists, locally and abroad, through a series workshops, theatre, dances, films, music performances. Highlights of the festival this year include a Cantonese Opera performance by veterans Liza Wang 汪明荃 and Law Ka-ying 罗家英, a concert by Golden Melody award winner 金曲奖 Waa Wei 魏如萱, and a musical performance by Guangdong's indie rock band Wu Tiao Ren 五条人.
Wan Qing Festival of Spring 2023 春满人间聚晚晴, an event to celebrate the Lunar New Year, will take place from 29 December 2022 to 19 February 2023 at Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall. Apart from getting to take photos with life-sized art installations in the form of rabbits, a host of activities from dragon & lion dance performance, interaction with God of Fortune, workshops, and guided tours await all visitors this festive season.
Chinatown Chinese New Year Festival 2023 (2023 年牛车水农历新年庆祝活动) will take place from 1 January to 19 February 2023. Themed "Leaping into the Prosperous Year of Rabbit", this year's celebrations feature rabbit lantern lightings and decorations along 4 major streets in the Chinatown district.
Dahlia Dreams 2023, the annual floral display held in conjunction with the Chinese New Year, will take place at the Flower Dome, Gardens by the Bay from 13 January - 26 February 2023. Featuring Dahlias, a type of sunflower native to Central America, the exhibition will be accompanied by 100 adorable rabbit sculptures, the zodiac sign of the year, in various poses with its long-time friend, the tortoise.
River Hongbao 2023 (春到河畔 2023), the annual Chinese New Year (CNY) celebrations along the Singapore River, will take place from 20 - 28 January 2023 at Gardens by the Bay (GBTB). Apart from taking photos with giant God of Fortune lantern, floating 'Dance of Spring' lantern set and various themes of lanterns in the shape of rabbits, a host of performances, activities, food fair, and amusement rides await all visitors throughout the 9-day event.
Huayi Chinese Festival of the Arts 2023 (华艺节2023), an annual cultural festival by Esplanade during the Chinese New Year, will take place from 27 January - 5 February 2023. The event showcases works of prominent Chinese artists, locally and abroad, through a series workshops, theatre, dances, films, music performances.
Chingay 2023, the annual street parade that celebrates multiculturalism in Singapore, will take place on 3 & 4 February 2023 at the F1 Pit Building. Apart from showcasing the iconic Chingay floats and 17 mini-floats co-created in the community, the parade will also feature cultural performances by youths from various ethnic groups in a show of unity, heritage and diversity in the country.
Chinatown Chinese New Year Festival 2024 (2024年牛车水农历新年庆祝活动) is scheduled to take place from 11 January to 9 March 2024. Being the year of Dragon, this year's celebration features dragon themed lanterns, lightings and decorations along 4 major streets in the Chinatown district. Apart from taking photos with the dragon installations and festive lightings, visitors can look forward to participating in a host of festive activities from shopping for CNY merchandise, participating in art workshops, watching Chinese cultural performances, to attending the CNY countdown party during this period.
Wan Qing Festival of Spring 2024 (春满人间聚晚晴2024), the annual Chinese New Year celebratory event at Wan Qing Yuan 晚晴园, will be held from 16 January - 25 February 2024. Other than taking photos with life-sized dragon installation at the lawn, a host of ticketed and free activities from dragon & lion dance performances, interaction with God of Fortune, lantern-making workshop, dragon-beard candy making workshop to guided tours await all visitors this festive season.
