The Reunion Dinner (团圆饭 or 年夜饭) is one of the most important traditions of Chinese New Year (CNY), celebrated on the eve of the lunar new year. In 2025, it falls on 28 January 2025 (Tuesday).

It is a time for reconnecting, sharing joyful moments and strengthening family bonds. Where to go for Reunion Dinner for Chinese New Year 2025 in Singapore?
In the 80s and 90s, Reunion Dinners were typically held at the home of the eldest family member, with the entire family coming together to prepare the feast.
However, as work hours lengthened and more Singaporeans opted to dine out, fewer younger generations inherited their grandparents’ secret recipes and cooking traditions. Starting in the 90s, families began to hold their Reunion Dinners at restaurants for convenience, making it easier to gather and enjoy the meal without the hassle of cooking at home.
