Operated by TNG Digital Sdn Bhd, its shareholders include Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd (45.24%), Antfin Singapore Holding Pte Ltd (28.88%), Alipay Singapore Holding Pte Ltd (14.59%), ASP Malaysia LP (7.52%), and AIA Malaysia Bhd (3.76%). Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd is wholly owned by CIMB Group.

TNG Digital was formed in 2017, and TNG eWallet was launched in 2018. It is now accepted everywhere from roadside hawkers and 7-Eleven stores to restaurants in Malaysia. Additionally, it is integrated with DuitNow for remittances and can be used for QR payments overseas in China, Singapore (PayNow), Japan, Thailand (PromptPay), South Korea, Macao, and the Philippines.

Step-step guide to set up Touch ‘n Go eWallet account

Opening a Touch ‘n Go eWallet account is easy for a foreigner. Follow these easy guide:

  1. Download Touch ‘n Go eWallet app by TNG Digital Sdn Bhd [Apple Store | Google Play].
  2. Launch the app.
  3. Tap on “Sign Up”.
  4. Fill in your phone number and click “Next”.
  5. Verify your phone number with the text OTP sent to your number.
  6. Create your 6-digit PIN.
  7. Set your security question. You can choose from the options below:
    1. Primary school name
    2. First company name
    3. Childhood name
  8.  Fill in the following details:
    1. Full name as per IC/Passport
    2. Nationality
    3. IC number
    4. Date of birth
    5. Email address
  9. Agree to the terms and conditions.

How to top-up or reload amount on Touch ‘n Go eWallet

There are 2 ways to top-up amount on Touch ‘n Go eWallet. One is via DuitNow transfer (a PayNow equivalent in Malaysia) and one is via auto-reload with a credit card or debit card.

DuitNow transfer:

  • Tap on “Reload”.
  • Under the Reload via DuitNow Transfer, copy your account number.
  • Open your bank app, make a DuitNow transfer to the account number.
  • You can instantly verify the amount in TNG eWallet. 

Auto-reload with a credit card or debit card:

  • Tap on “Reload”.
  • Tap on eWallet Balance.
  • Tap on Auto-reload.
  • Fill in your desired threshold amount. It will auto-reload when your eWallet balance falls below the threshold.
  • Fill in your desired auto-reload amount
  • Add your card details
  • Tap on “Save”

How to make payment with TNG eWallet

Making payments with TNG eWallet is straightforward.

For smaller merchants, such as roadside vendors, tap on “Scan” and scan the QR code displayed by the merchant.

For bigger merchants, such as 7-Eleven or overseas stores, tap on “Pay” and show your QR code to the cashier for scanning.

For Singaporeans with Malaysia’s Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) RFID tag, your Touch ‘n Go eWallet will be automatically deducted every time you enter or exit the RFID-designated lanes at toll plazas.
