When is Qing Ming 2024 in Singapore?
Qing Ming 2024 (清明节2024) falls on the 4 April 2024, Thursday. Qing Ming is an annual festival that is observed by Han Chinese on 15th day after the Spring Equinox (春分).
During the festival, descendants visit their ancestors’ tombs with their extended family members to perform tomb sweeping activities. In Singapore and many parts of Southeast Asia, the festival is observed from around 10 days before and after the actual date.
What are the operating hours of Columbariums and Cemeteries during Qing Ming 2024?
In anticipation of crowds visiting the public Columbariums in Singapore where the ashes of the majority of deceased are housed during this period, the National Environment Agency (NEA) announced that Choa Chu Kang Columbarium, Mandai Columbarium, and Yishun Columbarium will operate 24 hours daily from 16 March 2024 to 14 April 2024.
Choa Chu Kang Cemetery will operate 24 hours daily as usual.
Garden of Peace, where ashes are scattered in the garden, opens from 9am to 5pm on weekdays, excluding Qing Ming Day and public holidays. Visitors to the facility on 16, 17, 23, 24, 29, 30, 31 March 2024 and 4, 6, 7, 10, 13, 14 April 2024 are required to have approved booking for inland ash scattering.

Do I need to make a booking for Qing Ming 2024?
Bookings for Qing Ming 2024 are only required for those driving and parking at Choa Chu Kang Columbarium or Mandai Columbarium, and on selected dates between 16 March 2024 to 14 April 2024.

- Visiting between 6:00am and 4:00pm
- March 2024: 16, 17, 23, 24, 29, 30, 31
- April 2024: 4, 6, 7, 10, 13, 14

Drivers who are only picking up or dropping off passengers at designated points at Mandai Columbarium and Choa Chu Kang Columbarium do not need to book an appointment.
Visitors taking public transport, including public buses, shuttle buses, taxis, public hire vehicles (PHVs), also do not need to make any appointment.
