When is Qing Ming 2026 in Singapore?
Qing Ming 2026 (清明节2026) falls on the 5 April 2026 (Sunday).
This annual observance is celebrated by the Han Chinese on the 15th day following the Spring Equinox (春分). During the festival, descendants gather with their extended families to visit their ancestors’ graves, clean the tombs, and pay their respects, a practice known as “tomb sweeping”.
In Singapore and many parts of Southeast Asia, families typically observe Qing Ming over a broader period, beginning about 10 days before and continuing up to 10 days after the official date, to accommodate family schedules and avoid crowding at cemeteries and columbaria.
