Singtel – Singapore Cancer Society Race Against Cancer 2021 (RAC 2021)
September 18, 2021 - September 26, 2021SGD30
Singtel – Singapore Cancer Society Race Against Cancer 2021 is a virtual charity race to save lives. The event will be held from 18-26 Sept 2021. Rally your friends and family to support the cancer community by donating to your fundraising campaign!
Organised by SCS, Race Against Cancer (RAC) 2021 aims to raise funds for cancer treatment subsidies, welfare assistance, cancer rehabilitation, hospice care, cancer screenings, research, public education and cancer support group initiatives.
Funds raised will help to drive SCS’s programmes and services such as the SCS Cancer Care Fund, SCS Cancer Rehabilitation Centre, SCS Cancer Treatment Fund, SCS Help the Children and Youth Programme and the SCS Welfare Aid.
RAC exists to make our statement against cancer, to minimise cancer and maximise lives.
No one should fight cancer alone – this event invites people of all walks of life to join in the fight and run alongside those who are impacted by cancer.
Due to the COVID-19 situation this year, RAC will be conducted virtually and physically as part of efforts to adhere to safe distancing measures. The RAC 2021 provides an opportunity for participants to run at their own convenience, within the race period.
The RAC 2021 will be a 9-day event where participants can run anywhere in Singapore by using a GPS-enbled app (STRAVA is the preferred app) to track your runs. Participants can choose to run at the Parks or Park Connector Network (PCN) in your immediate neighbourhood or even within your own home, as long as the GPS-enbled app is able to capture your running route.
Cancer is so pervasive in Singapore with 39 people diagnosed with cancer every day and in all parts of Singapore. SCS would like to rally participants to run and conquer the entire Singapore map to signify that we are CONNECTED AS ONE giving hope and support to the cancer community. Our goal is to cover and heat up the entire map of Singapore to fight against cancer and save lives!
