The Singapore Mental Health Conference 2021 (SMHC 2021) – co-organised by Institute of Mental Health, the Agency for Integrated Care, the National Council of Social Service and the Health Promotion Board – has grown steadily since its inception in 2013. It is now the premier interdisciplinary mental health conference in Singapore and the region. The SMHC brings together mental health, social service, and education professionals and community partners as well as advocates and users of mental health services, providing a common platform for the sharing of best practices and research findings and to network for better collaborations.
The theme for SMHC 2021 is Future Paradigms of Mental Health. It underlines the pressing need to examine the Covid-19 Pandemic and how the resulting unprecedented changes have impacted the mental health of different segments of Singapore society. We hope to draw lessons from these experiences to address any gaps and develop best practices in the mental health system in anticipation of future challenges and changes.
At the conference, international and local speakers will discuss topics pertaining to the following Track themes:
For the first time, SMHC 2021 will be a fully virtual event. We hope to attract local and regional professionals and service providers from the healthcare, social service, education, intermediate and long-term care sectors, as well as consumers of mental health services. The new format of delivery will also enable more caregivers and regional participants to attend the conference.
