OCBC Cycle 2022 will be held at Singapore Sports Hub for both competitive and non-competitive rides while keeping the virtual component. The two in-person rides – the OCBC Cycle Speedway Championships and a new 20km City Ride – will take place on 7 and 8 May 2022. The virtual rides, which were a hit the past two years, will take place from 7 May to 6 June 2022.
The 20km City Ride will take participants on closed roads passing several scenic locations including the Benjamin Sheares Bridge and Gardens by the Bay, before finishing inside the grand National Stadium at the Singapore Sports Hub. OCBC Cycle 2022 will also see the return of the highly popular, action-packed Speedway Championships. Safe management measures will be put in place to safeguard the health and safety of all participants over the two event days.
The virtual rides, which were a hit the past two years, will take place from 7 May to 6 June 2022. There is a new category, the Team Challenge Virtual Ride, where teams of four comprising family members, friends or colleagues can compete for the honour of riding the longest distance. The 100km and 200km Virtual Rides continue to be featured while The Straits Times Virtual Ride has been lengthened from 23km to 60km based on feedback. The Mighty Savers® Kids Virtual Ride remains at 5km.
OCBC Cycle is Singapore’s largest mass cycling event since 2009. It aims to be a safe cycling platform for riders across all cycling proficiencies. Championing cycling as a year-round way of life and giving cyclists the opportunity to cycle on closed roads with scenic views, OCBC Cycle is sanctioned by the Singapore Cycling Federation and supported by Sport Singapore. The event attracts close to 7,000 cyclists every year since its change in format in 2015.
