LKCNHM Preservation Collections Conservation 2022 is a special programme this school holiday to learn about fossilisation and plant pressing techniques through specimen demonstrations and hands-on activities. From 10 – 17 June 2022, each participant will get to make a fossil using plaster and a badge using pressed flowers and leaves at the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum (LKCNHM). The programme will also include a guided gallery tour focusing on preservation techniques, behind-the-scenes stories of specimens, and importance of research and conservation.
Apart from the hands-on workshop, participants will also get exclusive access to the Zoological Reference Collection to learn how curators preserve and catalogue over a million specimens from throughout the region.
Note: This programme is for participants of ages 7 years and above.
