Thekchen Choling Vesak Day Celebration 2026

Thekchen Choling Vesak Day Celebration 2026 (大乘禅寺卫塞祈愿大法会2026) will take place for one week from 25 – 31 May 2026 at the open field beside NEX Mall and Serangoon MRT station. Marking the monastery’s Silver Jubilee, this year’s edition is set to be its largest Vesak festival to date.

Thekchen Choling, which means “Great Mahayana Dharma Temple”, is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Singapore named after the monastery of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

This year’s “Our Joyous Vesak 2026” celebration will present a vibrant line-up of spiritual and community activities. Highlights include daily prayers and pujas, the 5th edition of the animal blessing ceremony, a water purification ritual, as well as Dharma teachings and sharing sessions aimed at nurturing reflection, compassion and inner well-being.

Leading up to the main celebration, preliminary programmes and prayers will also be held at Thekchen Choling Singapore from 16 to 24 May 2026, offering devotees an extended period of practice, blessings and reflection during the Vesak season.
